Crochet Fun - Krista Throw Rug

Procrasti-crochet - what you do when you should be making dolls but lack the inspiration...

Just started a sampler crochet throw - Krista's Throw, a block of the week crochet project that Spotlight had a few years back.

 I can do basic crochet, and this is really testing me - Youtube is my friend! It's great to get the brain working.

So I have six done and ???? more to go.

I am using Debbie Bliss merino wool - so beautiful to use and feels so beautiful.

No 5 crochet hook, squares are approx. 7 inches/17cm.  The pattern suggests 6.5 crochet hook, finished size 22cm.  I will go for smaller size and more squares.

The Krista pattern has 25 squares in total, so I will be adding extra squares, maybe repeats, not sure....

Yay, feeling inspired, and the brain is getting a good workout - aiming for a square a day! hoping for 5 per week!

Jean - as a Wise Witch

 

 

Playing with Wise Women...here is Jean dressed as a witch again, this time in different colourways. I had fun with these ladies. I had some red star chiffon and some organza white with embroidered stars in the 'stash'. Whipped up some matching hats, and there they are! My Three Wise Sisters!

Albert - lovely man, sweetheart of Jean - Pattern now available

Albert - pattern now available for my lovely man, special friend to Jean.

Albert is the long time best friend and sweetheart of Jean, one of the Garden Circle Ladies. They met in school and married when at just 18 years old. Recently they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, surrounded by their six children, 15 grandchildren, 7 great-children and most of the village where they have lived their entire lives.

Albert great loves are his sweetheart Jean, his family, and his garden. He is known to frequent the local pub where he meets up with his old buddies ‘from the old days’. Jean still sews all his clothes, and they are often seen in matching outfits, with similarly dressed great-grandchildren swarming around. He is one of the most loved villagers.

Where would the GARDEN CIRCLE be without Jean???? She is always bright and cheerful, with a huge batch of muffins under her arm, and yet another glorious hat creation. She is always punctual, sometimes has one or two grandchildren holding on to her hand, and loves gardens. No one mentions the time that she confused liquid fertiliser with weed killer, and lost an entire crop of beans; nor the time that she had too much sherry at the GARDEN CIRCLE Christmas party….
